Welcome, where our doors are open to all in building a spiritual community!

Missions from the Fall

On Sat. October 27th we joined a wonderful organization, Trees Bring Hope, in the Springfield MA area to plant trees after the tornado wreaked havoc in that area last year.

“We see trees as symbols of hope...of new beginnings...a chance to start over.  We believe that, through this crisis, we can all come together and be the people we were created to be.  By pooling our resources and working together, the young and the not-so-young can help build a future that is yet to be made visible.

The gifting and planting of new life, new trees through Trees Bring Hope offers citizens an intimate and personal way to express their concern to family, friends, and neighbors victimized by the storms by gifting them with a tree or trees without having to perform any physical labor unless they want to. Trees will be delivered and planted on each recipient’s property, not along the tree belts or in public spaces.”

Trees of Hope has already planted upwards of 100 red and sugar maples (go to to donate a tree if you wish, but not necessary) this past year and this event was their largest day of planting – MSCC Missions Committee

Team Haiti 2013

Main Street Congregational is sending another team to Haiti April 15-26th, 2013. We will be with new and experienced team members building in partnership with the Fuller Center for Housing in Gressier, Haiti. Speak with Joan if you are interested in learning about this opportunity.

On October 13th people gathered for our

"Help Us Build for Haiti"  Fundraiser

We constructed a Haitian style home right on our own front lawn at Main Street Church in downtown Amesbury. Each cement block purchased brought us closer to Haiti. People enjoyed "Flatbread pizza" baked in their own earthen oven right on site and live music throughout the evening.

No More Shacks!

MSCC Mission Grant 2012

 Mission Grant Fund Summary:

As the Bible teaches, we are to give the first fruits of our labor back to the works  of God. Based on this biblical teaching, Main Street Congregational Church will donate the first 5% raised from the Capital Campaign to missions by setting up a Mission Grant Fund. This fund’s purpose is to provide seed money to people within our church community as well as the local community who would like to set up and /or fund a “helping others” mission program or provide a mission-related service.
