Welcome, where our doors are open to all in building a spiritual community!

Leadership Team

  • Joan MacPherson, Pastor.    I am Joan MacPherson and my formal title is Pastor and Teacher of Main Street Church.  What that means is that I get to have my full time job be serving this amazing congregation as spiritual leader, mentor, coach, facilitator and a whole lot of “other duties as assigned”.  I love doing this work which gives me the chance help people see God’s claim and presence in their lives.  I also love helping to build a community of care and compassion.  I am in awe of how people here give and risk.
  • Erna Lallier, MSCC Moderator. I have been a member of MSCC since the mid-80's and Moderator from 1999 - 2004 and again in 2010.  As Moderator I oversee the workings of the congregation, Chair of the Executive Council, and support all the Boards in theirwork.  Whenever needed, I will call a meeting of the congregation to vote on matters that affect the congregation and our wonderful church.
  • David Frick, Co-Chair of Capital Campaign..  My name is David Frick and I have recently resigned my position as Moderator (think of it as the non-clergy leader of the church) to become a co-chair of the Capital Campaign we are undertaking to repair and renovate our church and vestry. You will find this amazing church is made up of open, kind, accepting, loving, caring, and warm people, on individual spiritual journeys, that have a common goal of being with and helping out those in need within and outside of our church community.
  • Ruth Trick, Chair, Board & Worship  My name is Ruth Trick and I am the chairperson of the Board and Worship and Music. The BOWM oversees all things musical and spiritual at Main Street Congregational Church. We work with Rev. Joan MacPherson, our minister, and Danny Smith, our musical director, to make sure that everything in our weekly worship service flows smoothly. We prepare and serve Holy Communion on a monthly basis, take care of obtaining flowers for special services, assist Rev. Joan at baptisms and the receptions of new members. We give support to the entire music program, many of us by active participation in the music program.
  • Matt O'Hala, Chairman of Trustees.  I have been a member since 1995, I help out on various groups and events and try to lend a hand whenever I can.  I grew up in a Catholic family and church was an important part of our life when I was young. When my children were born my wife and I began looking for a church and found Main Street Congregational. We've formed some strong friendships here and our involvement gives us a spiritual base for our lives. Life in a Congregational Church offers opportunities to get involved in a more personal level than some other denominations. It will challenge and fulfill you.
  • Steve Horhota, Assistant Treasurer, Co-Chair of Capital Campaign. As the custodian of the Church's Trust Funds, it is my responsibility to preserve endowments that have been given to us as a sustaining source of income allowing the congregation to fulfill its mission of helping its members and the community at large.  I come to Main Street for the chance to add my commitment to that of so many others seeking to be of service as a 21st Century Christian.
  • Barb Bode, Collector.  A greeting, my name is Barb Bode and I serve in two roles at MSCC.  First - I am one of the "money" people.  As Collector I am responsible for recording and processing the weekly offering, as well as any other monies that come into the church that are to be deposited to our general operating account.  Secondly - I coordinate our "coffee hour" time following the church service.  I give to this wonderful church community because I feel it is important to be contributing - not just standing on the outside.  In our faith we are a church "for the people, by the people" and we can all be a part of the team!
  • Shirley Autio, Clerk.  My job is to take notes at certain monthly meetings, to post warrants, write up the minutes at any special church meetings, and put the annual church report together.  I volunteered my talent and time for this job in order to do my part to help the church and keep records of what is happening.
  • Carmen Weisensee , Fellowship. Hello, shortly after my family came to MSCC I joined a committee called Board of Fellowship. This group plans for and encourages the congregation to provide outreach and mission work along with fun fellowship activities within the church community. Being a part of this committee I feel like I'm working at the heart of the church. Not only are we bringing people together for a needy cause but because we are also creating a deeper connection of the people in the church community.
  • Lori Townsend, Chair of Stewardship Committee, Lori a long term member of our congregation has offered to lead us in our discernment and giving to God. Thank you Lori for helping us give back what God gives so freely to us.
  • Barbara Lucy, Secretary.  Barbara serves diligently as our church secretary and provides a consistent, stable and dedicated service to our ministry.
